Twitter, useful or not?

I am not a fan of social networking sites, but there are about 2 that interest me. I cracked up at the Farker posts about Twitter here. I have been lurking a bit on Twitter, following people whose primary interest and / or occupation is internet security. I get news updates and links to interesting blogs. So for me personally, I find twitter useful for internet security. I plan to "tweet" more in the future, but for now, I continue lurking.
